STYX KIOSK – Innovation Rd, Macquarie Park

The Styx Kiosk is among a number of cafés for this client. For this location the brief required an industrial, almost exterior based style to fit with the open and expansive building foyer.
With no ceiling for at least 4 floors up and walls we couldn’t fix into, we had to think creatively. We turned this to our advantage using the industrial theme to create a steel framework that functioned as a structure for the kiosk, housing the electrical services and supporting the lighting and shelving. The final integrating elements included architectural prefab concrete panels that clad the counter front and a four metre high artwork of a construction site with men on scaffolding.
